What does A Resistance Band do?

March 29, 2021

Resistance tubes, also called Resistance bands, are used for strength training. They are also commonly used in physical therapy, specifically by convalescents of muscular injuries, including rehab patients to allow slow rebuilding of strength. There are 4 resistance bands that we can explain with some detailed information. So, you can select according to your training intensity.

Therapy Band

As the most common bands, they are always used for rehabilitation, and physical therapist. The flat and soft material is easy to grip in your hands with any length you want. You can use this small equipment to tone your whole body. Compared with expensive and weighted fitness equipment, a therapy band is more flexible and can provide a resilience force from 15 to 50 pounds. That means is suitable not only for a patient in a hospital but also for a fitness enthusiast.

Compact Resistance Band

Also called mini band, it is used for sculpting the upper and lower body. Due to its small size, it is completely portable and very convenient. So, it is a fantastic tool that you can use everywhere. A 3-inch wide latex band can be looped tightly on your arms and lower legs to strengthen your muscles.

Lateral Resistance Band

Walking exercise with a lateral resistance band looks pretty funny, but it's actually a good exercise to improve hip stability and increase knee-joint stability. In fact, lateral band walks aim to build up the gluteus minimus and the gluteus medius muscles.

Ring Resistance Band

Also called an O-shape tube band, it is made of a latex tube with one or two foam handles to avoid slipping. It is an ideal piece of equipment for upper-body workouts, especially arms. You can either use it for rehabilitation and muscle group buildup. In general, in order to stimulate people’s shopping desire, it is also with the most colorful designs and various models.
